Can't Install Service Pack 2 for PSP X8

Post by suzshook »

I can't download/install Service Pack 2 for PSP X8. Every time I shut down the application, it tells me Service Pack 2 is not available, and asks me if I want to download and install it. I click Download, and then I get a screen that tells me my update is ready to install, so I click Install, and it looks like it's installing it, but then, one of two things happen:
  • - it tells me PSP X8 is still running and I need to close the application and try again (even though PSP X8 is NOT running)

    - or it says something like "No update of your installed software is required at this time".
And when I restart PSP X8 and look at Help...About, it says I'm still running 18.1.0.3, so nothing happened, and SP 2 is not installed.

Any ideas about what I should do to get SP 2 to install? Suz

Hello,

I do not know about such version, proper versions are:
- PaintShop Pro X8 with Service Pack 1 (version 18.1.0.67)
- PaintShop Pro X8 with Service Pack 2 (version 18.2.0.61)

If not try, unistall PSP, install clear retail version you have, check .Net Framework 4 on your system, install SP2 - http://www.paintshoppro.com/en/support/updates/ :D

Before you do anything , open the task manager and make sure all instances of Paintshop pro are stopped.
Sometimes PSP continues doing a few things in the background when closed and for an installer this means that it is still running.
Better still. Close PSP and turn off your computer and re boot and then try the SP 2 as the first thing.
Systems available Win7, Win 8.1,Win 10 Version 1607 Build 14393.2007 & version 20H2 Build 19042.867
