Problem with VS and Windows

Post by lhha »

Hi

I keep all my caputered video in some folders in my computer. But right now I cannot open these folders, without windows or VS crashing!
I tried scan disk and reinstallation of windows and VS - but no luck!

Any bright ideas?

I hope you can help me.

Best regards

You probably have a corrupted Thumbs.db file in that folder. This file contains the thumbnails that Windows Explorer and the Common Dialogs can display for media files. Try deleting the file from a command prompt, and it will get regenerated the next time you open the folder.

If that doesn't do the trick, then you have one or more corrupt media files, and the crash occurs while trying to generate the Thumbs.db file. In that case you'd have to identify the file causing the crash and delete it -- it would most likely be one of the last files you created.
