How to make 16:9 menu?
I have had success burning widescreen movies imported from Pinnacle 9-made MPEG2 files, but the menu always appears in 4:3. Does anyone know how to create a widescreen menu?
16:9 Menus
Hello sk:
I thought of creating menus in 16:9 ratio would be advantageous with 16:9 movies. But I read an article that all Hollywood DVD menus are in 4:3 ratio (full screen). If you create a 16:9 menu, you may get a letter box format, which you don't want (I suspect).

16:9 Menus
Hello sk:
So I don't mislead you. . .
You can create 16:9 menus. But beware, there is the "TV Safe Zone" you have to abide by when creating menus. That zone is usually within 4:3. This is for placing your buttons and text, etc.
If you create your menu in 16:9 and place those attributes outside of the zone, during playback the viewer may not be able to see those attributes you placed in your menu on a DVD Player. Even some of your background images could be cut off on the four sides.
If you have a DVD player, you may want to test it to make sure.
