Using Textures freezes PSP x8
Does anyone know why using some texture templates freezes PSP x8? It's hit and miss and I can't find out why some work and some don't.
They're all jpg files, all approximately the same size. They are in the C:\...\Corel PaintShop Pro\18.0\Textures files. Not sure if one has anything to do with the other, but this started happening right after I downloaded the latest PSP patch.
Thanks for lending me a clue!

It could just be one or two files are corrupt. Try removing the file that causes the freeze then try again. Or, open the image in PSP and resave it for PSPX8.

It would really help if you could mention some of the texture names that you are having trouble with.
I started to try the textures and then realised there were 73 textures to wade through.
Also could you outline the steps you are taking to use the textures that lead to the freezes.
You said you have the latest PSP patch
I have PSP X8 with SP1 on a Windows 10 laptop. I would like to try your problem on the unpatched version first then Install SP2 and see if I can duplicate the effect / problem. But I am not prepared to waste my time going through perhaps 50+ texture before I stumble cross a problem one.

Re: Using Textures freezes PSP x8
I spent most of yesterday working with this. There isn't any one specific texture that freezes PSP. It's more hit-and-miss. A texture that doesn't work one time does just fine the next.
Now I'm wondering if the size of my PSP files has anything to do with the speed/function of this software. (I have massive amounts of files, which is why I wonder.) I think my next experiment will be to move some of the files off of PSP and see if things improve.
Thank you for your offer of help! I really appreciate it, but I don't think there's anything you can do at this point.

How large are you texture files?
Check on Corel's texture files for size and change yours accordingly using Batch Process.
