Importing 2k video into timeline
Hi Guys
When I try to import my 2K video into the timeline , it says 'the content of these files is unreadable' ?
I am running Videostudio X8 Ultimate
The content has come from my sjcam sj5000x elite action camera
Does videostudio support 2K ?
thanks for you time
Chris

Re: Importing 2k video into timeline
Don't think 2k is the problem. Post details of the video file (use mediainfo or properties). Does the video play in Windows media player?

Re: Importing 2k video into timeline
Can't see any unusual items on the video format. However, since Windows Media Player is not displaying the video correctly, the format must have something peculiar.
Does the maker of the video cam that is creating the video describes the video format? Do they supply any software to interpret the video? How about trying another video player like VLC, SMPlayer, or Potplayer to see if the video plays. Finally, you could also try to use Format Factory to convert the file.
I conclude that something is unusual with the video file.

Re: Importing 2k video into timeline
FWIW I have only one sample of 2560 x 1440 video, in mpeg-4 format and using AAC Audio. It inserts fine into X8 Ultimate and even asks if I want the Project Properties to be the same. It also plays fine in both WMP and VLC player.
Do you think you could make a small clip (10 - 20 seconds) available on a website such as Dropbox so that we can test it at our end?

Here what I found
http://static.wr24.pl/samples/sjcam/sj5000x/1440p30.MP4
VLC plays it, WMP do not. my X9 loads and play it fine.

Re: Importing 2k video into timeline
I had tested a 2K video before in MP4/AAC. It worked well on X8 but a bit lag due to my PC configuration, I suppose...

Hi
Thanks for the update, good to know you have the program running ok.
I did ask about QuickTime and whether you have it installed.
Just wondered if you had uninstalled because of the recent security issues?
Installing X8 would install QuickTime.
