I don't speak German, and they discuss the new fast flick template making which I have no idea how useful this feature to the average VS user.

Hi Asik

I have tried using this tool to create a simple slide show, Images + Crossfade transition.
I am unable to set a transition on all images, only seems to use every alternate image.

As…..
Image – Xfade – Image – Image – Xfade – Image – Image – Xfade etc.

Haven’t worked out why I cannot set transition to all images?

Once created I could add any amount of images and create an instant slide show.
Although I can do that manually

Pity that YT is in German

That feature needs quickly to show it's strength and usefulness to justify it's 100-200 hours of development since X7.
I fail to understand the needs for it (only events videographers might use it if they care) over the current "save vsp as template"
Those hours of development could be much more useful in fixing, on going VS culprits.

I too agree with "fluff" being added instead of real issues being addressed is to me also, a major problem. Especially if there are long standing issues. I am sure that FastFlick has an appeal to the novice editor. They can put something together and show it off. But the more seasoned editor probably never even looks at them. I know I just looked at them and that was it. I can see some use in what I do (and it's not mostly event work), but it's very limited for "me". Especially with all the templates that can be had and customized within the editor.

Actually FastFlick is a lot better then some of the crtics here think - especially since they have not used it.

It gives you basic start to creating a slideshow which you can then tweak quite a lot in the VideoStudio editor.

I don't think we should be that quick to dismiss it as "fluff" - it is designed for beginners and most users of VS are not that experienced and professionals use better software. How many users really have use for the multiple cameras feature? Very few I would think. For me such features as "multi-camera" are fluff.?

Maybe "fluff" is not the best word I should have used. But I am looking for stability first and functionality. I posted how it would appeal to those just starting out in video editing. But you can't say most VS users are not experienced. Many are. I would think so since many have stayed with the product for a long time.

As for multicam? Look at the feature requests... one that is always way up there by these non-experienced users. Same could be said for motion tracking, audio ducking, subtitling, etc...
I have used and experimented with FastFlick, so I do know how to use it. Not my 'cup of tea', but I can see the usage of it by people.

Each software company in the consumer editing world are vying for the new users and to appeal to the long time users. It's a balancing act that doesn't always balance out for some.

Looks as canuck didn't look into that tool either, we do not "fluffing" FastFlick at all but do you thing that "beginners" need a tool for composing VSP's to be used in FF ? I will be happy to see a tutorial on that tool and how "beginerish" it is. That is what we are sorry about.
