Runs smooth and suddenly stops
Hi, I have a project created and when i play through the project at one certain spot it stops(do not freeze) I can go pass the freeze up a few seconds and continue on again, I have replaced the video with a different clip, even with a picture, and still it stops in the same place ,I have even removed any audio files that is being used and still for some unknown reason the project stops. Any advice?

Hi
Very strange indeed, unless you are using Smart Proxy and one particular clip has missed the process, but as you have replaced the clip maybe not SP.
For the time being I have no real idea why this would happen, but will give it more thought?
You are of course playing the project in project playback and not clip mode?
Project playback range set ???

Re: Runs smooth and suddenly stops
My apologizes guys, this is a little embarrassing but i just discovered that one of my audio clips that I used, was in slow motion big time! It was only 1 second long and stretch down to 10 speed. Things are fixed and running smooth!!
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Runs smooth and suddenly stops
Altho you've found the source of your problem, there's another thing that can cause this stuttering playback effect (runs fine, stops for a bit then resume running before stopping again etc)- a slow interface to an external store, eg usb memory. The stuttering is caused by the program memory cache for the project file being emptied faster than it fills up, because that hardware memory interface to where the content is is too slow - it starts again (if you leave it alone even tho it seems like its dead) when the cache is filled, etc.
I have found that for example on a 2.7ghz dual core 64bit laptop with several usb3 ports, this effect is most pronounced with a common el cheapo usb2 memory stick storing the project file and the related content (a package). Some brands like imation are worse than others, but the main cause is that usb2 interface on the stick. Even using a usb3 memory stick in one of those usb3 ports gives some of that effect but it is very minimal. I found that using the SD card interface (put the package on a cat 10 SDHC card) on the laptop was a good way to avoid that issue altogether, but that does require a direct SD card interface (ie, NOT via a card plug in that uses usb connections) on the computer . . . .
