After Rendering... File Format Mismatch

Post by rfox_11 »

Hi everyone,

Hope you can help me with this. I am using VS x4 and working on an hour long video (podcast). Right after rendering it, VS gives me the message "File Format Mismatch." About the formats I am using: My raw footage is in 1080x1920 .MOV, music is mp3, and a few clips are in mp4 and jpg.

As I view the rendered file (which is mp4) the first 45 minutes work fine, but the final 15 minutes don't show a picture. On some video players (like Windows Media Player) it freezes.

What do you think is going on here? I was reading some older posts on the topic of "File Format Mismatch" and I think there could have been a patch or a hotfix for it, but I couldn't locate the download. Please point me in the right direction!

Thanks!
Rebekah

Did you do anything to keep X4 working on your computer ? every one else in the world running Windows 7 had a major problem back in February when a Microsoft update stopped all versions of Videostudio from working - read this topic http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=58892 for fixes that were made - yours may stop working any time

Videostudio has a problem with *SOME* MP3 files - it is worth converting any in the timeline around the 45 minute mark to .wav and trying that

X4 is a long time ago now - not sure if there was a patch or fix for it - every thing related to X4 has been removed from the Corel website so unless some one happens to have a copy on their computer they can share with you then it may not be available

Hi Brian,

Yes, I am aware of the February 2016 Windows Update problem with VideoStudio. I actually just went through your step-by-step instructions to fix it earlier in the week! I was so happy to figure that out! OK, I will try converting any mp3 in the video and see if that works. I will let you know what happens. Thanks!
