Hello,
first of all - sorry for my English. Recently I bought "Motion Studio 3D" but I can't find a solution to the following problem: Own background images (whether as a file or from the clipboard) which I place inside the workspace of "Motion Studio" are not displayed and saved correctly - although I use the best quality settings (under projects). Oddly enough, all graphics in the "path editor" of "Motion Studio" are displayed true-to-original.
I'm using a lot of graphic-, video- and 3D - programs on my system (windows 7, 64bit) and all tools work fine. Finally I've installed Motion Studio on another Computer with nearly Windows 7 default settings. The same result: background images are not displayed 1:1. Please look at the small image in the attachment. The upper image = original, lower image shows how it appears in Motion Studio. I would be very grateful for some help.

Guten Tag,
I would be glad to help you. I'm not an expert, but I know quite a bit about MotionStudio 3D.
Could it be possible for you to save your project as a « 3cd » file, upload it somewhere safe so that I could download it and have a look at it (like OneDrive) ? That way I could see your project and better understand what you mean.

Re: background images appear distorted
Hello JaRo,
thank you very much for your answer. Unfortunately I've seen your Post only now, otherwise I would have react at one. I'm glad that you want to help me. So I've just uploaded a zip-file to my server, containing a c3d-file and two jpg - files. "back_1.jpg" I used as background for the c3d - file, "back_2.jpg" is the same image + a small pyramid , I've added and saved in Motion Studio.
Even if you have no solution to my problem, of course I'm interested in whether the background is displayed correctly in your Motion Studio Copy.
I know that my problem is insignificant for most users. However, for my work with Motion Studio a pixel precise display of the background is very important. By the way : 15 years ago I already used the parent of Motion Studio "Ulead Cool 3d" and never had any problems.

Re: background images appear distorted
Hi jb2201,
I've inserted you c3d project into my Corel MotionStudio 3D and everything looked fine to me. I even succeeded to change the background as you can see in the images below.
For the 1:1, maybe it's just a matter of resizing the background. After inserting one, if necessary, go to the Attributes Panel/Background Mode/Image/Resize Icon. Depending on the result, you can View/Adjust to Window.
Hoping that it's what you needed to achieve your goal. Have a nice day.

Re: background images appear distorted
Hi JaRo,
thanks for your efforts.
Didn't you see yourself that all this has no effect regarding the distortion ? I even changed the dimensions first (under project) and then load the image and many other things. No chance ! One can make many fantastic things with "Motion Studio, it really stimulates the imagination. But obviously this commercial program has a (very basic) bug and that's very unfortunate. Each free image- or 3D - program can display bmp or jpg files correctly.
Have a nice day too.
thanks for your efforts.
You write that everything looks fine to you but your screenshot shows very clearly that the background is distorted - as in my case. I've already said that for most users it doesn't matter, for me it is absolutely important that no Pixel of the Souce image is changed.I've inserted you c3d project into my Corel MotionStudio 3D and everything looked fine to me. Re: background images appear distorted
You are right jb2201. I've looked very carefully at your two images and seen exactly what you meant. There is definitively a distortion. I've tried a new project and inserted your first image and the distortion appeared instantly.
Very sorry.

Re: background images appear distorted
Never mind. You have helped me only thereby that you have confirmed the wrong reproduction of a background image. So I can exclude operating errors , wrong installation and so on. I see that your system is Windows 7, 64bit (like me), maybe it's a general incompatibility with windows 7 ?You are right jb2201. I would like to ask all forum members, partcularly other users of Motion Studio or moderators: Does somebody know something about the decribed "bug" ? Of course I've contacted the Corel Support, but they only advised me to update my graphic drivers or to reinstall the application and all that. No answers regarding maloperation of the programme. I would be glad about other answers and once more: Sorry for my bad English.

Guten tag jb2201.
Personally I think you absolutely don't have to be sorry for your English. I'm a francophone from Québec and I find your English « very » good. You make an effort to speak/write it.
viel Spaß! ; schönen Tag noch!
