Searching the web, the implication is that PSP will open/use .PAT files. (Not sure which versions as the sites I found link to software sites and the current versions.). Seems the 'converters' are iffy at best as if there's other PAT format not just used in Corel or Adobe products. (A few vague cautionary notes about not working 100%.)
Searched the PSP X8 manual which covers use, adjustments, saving etc. of patterns. Nothing about .PAT formatted files.
Looking at the "Pattern" folders' locations on HD; most are jpg or pspimage files. (Didn't look at all of the folders, but enough to suspect that's the 'native format' for patterns.)
Searched the forum here found this thread: http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php ... at#p310303 which implies that a conversion is required.
Is the method outlined in the above thread the only way to convert for use in PSP per the previous thread? (Seems to be, but thought I'd ask.) Sounds tedious to have to use GIMP for a conversion. From what I glean, the GIMP converter displays the various images in the PAT file as layers. The implication there is that each layer would have to be saved as JPG or PSPIMAGE. Do I seem on track with that thinking?
Has anyone found any converter for PAT to JPG, PNG, PSPIMAGE files? (Anything similar to ABRViewer for Brushes to help convert PAT files?)
Thought it worth asking as my 'due diligence' in figuring out how to convert. (I have a lot of brushes from Ron Deviney. A couple of his collections have .PAT. I figure his patterns are as well done as his brushes.)

Try ReaConverter 7.
The trial version is active 7 days. You have time to make your tests.
Patterns are raster images (bmp).
The extracted images are saved in the folder where the PAT file are located.
PSP doesn't read nor save PAT files.
