1. The 3-step install is exactly what the technician did on my system, remotely. I watched him do it. However, I never noticed him installing the Bonus features package. If he did or didn't, I don't have all those bonus files in X9.canuck wrote:You are wrong on several points.
VS X5 is not a 64K program (as far as I know) and 64K programs are installed in the \Program files folder while 32K programs are installed in the \Program Files (86) folder.
You are correct that each program also has other folders where files are stored. But you can often tell which is a X5 and which is the X9 related folder. X5 is identified by a 15.0 folder while X9 is identified by a 19.0 folder. In one of your images that you posted you showed a 19.0 folder inside a 15.0 folder which is incorrect and looks like it was done manually.
VS X9 Ultimate consists of 3 separate installs when done manually. 1) the main program, 2)the contents and 3) the Bonus features (which contains the extras such as the NewBlue Effect, Mercali, Boris Grafitti.) If X9 were stalled correct you would have all the samples etc that you had with X5 if not many more.
Like Brian says a complete uninstall of X9 and reinstall (of all 3 parts) should soleve your problem
** I did have them last week before he 'fixed' everything.
2. Uninstalling then reinstalling X9 (for the 4th time) is more than my nerves (and my old hard drive) can handle. I'm just going to have to leave things as they are. At least, finally, X9 and X5 both boot-up and run. Now, I am going to begin learning how to use some of the new features in X9. I've already found a couple of things which may be errors or else things I just don't understand (yet).
Thank you, both, for all your help.
