I need to cut a scene out of a dash cam recording. The format is MOV, 30fps. When I cut the scene, with the scissors, and save the recording VideoStudio renders it and the cut clip is all pixelated. The original movie is smooth and you can clearly see details. The details in the saved cut clip are barely recognizable. This is a pretty straightforward procedure or am I doing something wrong? Can somebody help me with this?
Additional information: file format MOV, compression is h254 on both, attributes: 24 bits 1920 x 1080 on both.

Re: Videostudio X9 cut scene issues
Welcome to the forums!!
Is that a typo when you say both clips are h254? I would have expected h264... I am also hoping you can give a little more detail about what you mean when you say that after cutting the clip, you "save the recording and Video Studio renders it". How exactly do you "save" it? And does the rendering take place automatically i.e. suggesting that by 'save' you mean you went to Share and selected the output?
In Preferences > General, is the box beside "Show message when inserting first video clip" ticked? If not, tick it then start a new Project. Then reinsert the original clip. Do you get a message asking if you want the Project Properties to match those of the clip? If so, say OK. Cut the clip again and select Share > Same As Project Settings. Is the new clip still pixelated?

Re: Videostudio X9 cut scene issues
Sorry the h254 was a typo, it should be h264. I save the clip with File Menu- Saved Trimmed Video, like the manual says. After I select that the program automatically renders it.
Show messages when inserting first video clip is selected.
I started a new project, inserted the original clip, cut it, shared it with option 'Same as Project Settings" and it was still pixelated. I started playing around with different formats and Share-MOV (which is the same format as the original clip) gave me the best results. This doesn't make sense to me but it works for the moment.
