X8.5 fails to launch

Was working fine, but after going away on holiday a whole month I come back and once again x8.5 no longer opens.

I have another computer where I have plain never gotten X8 to run at all, and although this does look like the other forum threads where Windows updates are the cause, this seems to be a recurring issue? So I've started a new thread, since those do not help me this time. I have really not got the time nor inclination to keep re-installing everything every time in the hope that it works. Mostly it's due to me doing something non-obvious wrong in my computer setup.

Instead of asking me to re-install or something else, why not help us with some logging or tracing files? So we can help ourselves, any clues how to move forward that do not involve re-installing a 5th time. (Including once when I re-installed windows just for this issue.) That said- going to re-install one more time while I hope someone with similar pain has a clue.

Unfortunately no one here can help with providing log files - we do not work for Corel and have no influence on what tools Corel issue

The only thing I can say at the moment is did you install the hotfix-2 for X8.5 before you went on holiday - - actually issued for problems with Windows 7 - but *may* help you now

Grabbed a cuppa, uninstalled, rebooted and while watching a good cop drama, I key-punched my way through the installers and updates...
X8.5 is working perfectly. Hope this serves as inspiration.
