I'm not sure why you asked me that. I didn't say I tried doing so before. I just want to know if there is a way to do it.

Hi
No
files imported to VS have to be saved to the computers hard drives, they cannot be up in the clouds.

YES - videos for importation to Videostudio can be on any drive connected to your computer - USB drive - portable hard drive - or up in the clouds
If you want them in a library click on the "Import Media file" icon in the top right corner of the library and browse to your One Drive and select the contant you want to imort if you want them in the timeline RIGHT click on the timeline and choose "Insert Video" and browse to your one drive
do remember though that as with all media imports to VS they are just links and to work with the file that drive must always be available
a short video showing me doing it - - https://youtu.be/mjpTQSiHrQA

Hi
Thanks Brian, I was unaware that the files did not have to be on the pc.
I am having a little internet connection problems and cannot access your YT video as yet but will have a look.

Re: google drive and VS
Hi Brian
I seem to have my internet back for the time being.
I don’t use Google Drive, prefer One Drive I assume they are similar.
You appear to be linking the video from a folder on the C drive, I assume all files on your google drive will be downloaded automatically to your desktop folder, and visa versa, uploaded to Google.
If Robert gave us a Google Drive link would we be able to view on Video Studio without downloading the file?
Maybe I have misunderstood Robert’s post.?

No Trevor I am linking to files on my ONE DRIVE - not to folders on my computer OR to Google drive - - What makes you think that when my video clearly shows I link to folders on my one drive - where do you see Google ?
the folders I import from are on my one drive - accessed via a link on the desktop - not on my one drive

Hi
Sorry Brian just a confusion with Roberts reference to Google, does not really matter which it is.
So if you disconnect your internet then you get a re-link request from Video Studio?

Yes - exactly as if you were using a USB stick - or a portable hard drive - or my NAS - or a camcorder without physically transferring the files - their all just another link to my computer

Hi Brian,
I didn't post that post again. I don't know how it got there. That was a much earlier post meant for someone else. Thanks a lot for your help. I'm just trying to find other ways to get my videos into VS to see if that works.
