Load from stream error - will not run
All of a sudden I start getting a "load from stream error" I am using X8 version 18.6.0.6 and has been working great until today. All of a sudden it quit working. I can load the program but I get a load from stream error whenever I try to open a project. Just before this started it would take forever to load a project and then it would lock up and do nothing. What has happened to this? I have rebooted numerous times with no affect. Any ideas? I am running on Windows 7 32 bit Thanks

Re: Load from stream error - will not run
Hi
A search of the forum will find a lot of hits on this error.
It does appear to be a corrupt library, or maybe the libraries content.
Some references to resetting the program, but this will re-set the library so if you use the library you will have to manually import your clips. No choice really if you cannot run the program.
The reset replaces the 18.0 folder the old folder being available to possibly use files to rebuild the library, however if they are corrupt you will get the errors again.
This web page describes the reset process.

Re: Load from stream error - will not run
That got rid of the error. But now I have a different problem. When I open a project and try to edit it locks up. As soon as I press the play it just sits there and does nothing. I let in run and nothing happens. I have to use task manager to get out of the program it is so locked up. Any idea why this is happening? Id did not do this till the other problem started.

Hi
Does this happen with all projects or is it possible that you have a corrupt project file?

Re: Load from stream error - will not run
That must have been what started this whole problem. Other projects seem to work fine. I just deleted that project. Thanks
