Complaints to Corel

Post by JaRo »

Could we, all Corel users, have a more important impact on Corel ?

It seems that Corel doesn't care about us (similar to Microsoft with Windows). Previous versions (X4, X5, X6) are no more supported. They bought Ulead but doesn't give support to previous owners. VideoStudio and MotionStudio were from Ulead. MotionStudio was completely compatible with VideoStudio. Corel has wanted to make money over it and stopped to upgrade previous Ulead softwares, therefore MotionStudio. VideoPhoto Life has suddenly stopped to be active. Oups ! Corel has eated them. Ulead was a company that cared for their customers.

Could Corel people from one department talk to the one of another one ? It seems that, presently, the right hand doesn't know what the left one does. Therefore, what was good, in the previous versions, is not put Inside in the next upgraded version.

I can imagine how difficult is to succeed with programs that sell for less than $100 USD. I can also imagine supporting old versions of programs is extremely costly given computers changing all the time. Corel bought Ulead, I think, because Ulead was not successful (not profitable). Basically, I try to be understanding about how important it is for Corel to be financially viable or else we will not have any upgrades to the programs at all and we all know what that means with media equipment changing all the time.

It makes it harder when you offer to upgrade for 15$, which hardly pay for the servers that handle the traffic.
