NewBlue Film Effects

Post by Pete Waterman »

Hi All
Ive just installed VS X9 Ultimate (download version) with it you get NewBlue Film Effects.
On installing this i noticed something I thought was odd?
This image is showing the Newblue is for VS X8
1.jpg
This is showing the installation Assistant for Magix (I don't have any Magix programs installed)
2.jpg
the next image is for the installation Assistant for Magix 64 bit
3.jpg
The last one shows it is all installed in a Magix folder C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Common\VfxPlugins
4.jpg
Is this correct and if so how do i access NewBlue Film Effects through VSX9?
I know that you believe you understand what you think I said,
but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Hi Pete

Do you have X8 installed?
If so you may be able to copy the files across to X9, although not ideal.

I think you should contact Corel Support and ask for the X9 version.

Thanks Trevor

To be honest I didn't see that, Douh

For some reason the new VS X9 Ultimate is installed in C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio X9, and not C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X9 as with X8 C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X8.

I uninstalled the New blue film effects, reinstalled it on the path of C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio X9 checked everything else (very carefully) I didn't change any other setting and its now installed and no mention of Magix at all!

Hi Pete

Glad you managed to install the pack.

Installation Folder

I have the same folders as you describe, to be honest I have installed X9 many times and not really taken note of the folder name, but yes no Ultimate in the folder name.

Hmm, got the video studio x9 and come with NewBlue Film Effects free and i can not figure out how install and make the NewBlue Film Effects show up in FX drop down!
Have Windows 10 and the Corel install is in: "c drive (local drive) /program files/corel/corel videostudio x9/...all files here are from the install."

I have un-installed the new blue soft "Film Effects" and while trying to install back , i don't get that "path" screen anymore , anyway not sure what exactly to do to make it work.

Any help will appreciate.

Hi misa

Welcome to the forums

Unfortunately I never received that pack so cannot even try to replicate the installation problem.
Strange that it is no longer giving the option to Add Path.

I can only suggest you contact Corel Support to report the issue.
Clearly it should not default to X8 as it seems to be doing.

If you have X8 installed then it may be possible to copy the Vfx-Plugin files across to X9, not ideal I know, Again I cannot advise which files they are.

Yes, i may contact Corel support.
You can get Corel video studio x9 w/that free newblue addon for $14.99 , i guess is in sale . And i do not have x8, just purchased x9 directly.
