I finally bit on the offer to upgrade to X8 for $14.99.
How can I have it use all the same settings that I had with X6?
And I will want to delete the old X6 version. Safe to do without losing important files?
Upgraded, X6->X8. How to have same settings, delete X6?

It depends on exactly what settings you want to use. You cannot simply use the saved workspace file from X6 with X8 because some of the tools will be different, so you will have to customize your workspace again with X8.PianoAl wrote:I finally bit on the offer to upgrade to X8 for $14.99.

However, if you want to save the settings in Preferences, LeviFiction developed a script for saving the preferences you have set in X6 and then load them into another version of PSP. It will save all of the preferences except File Locations, which again you will have to set yourself in X8.
If you have installed third party resources in the same folders that the installed PSP resources are located in then uninstalling X6 will remove all of those third party resources along with the ones that installed with X8 because it will uninstall those folders. If you have saved third party resources in separate folders then they should be still there after uninstalling X6. The native PSP installed resources will be installed with the X8 installed installation.PianoAl wrote:And I will want to delete the old X6 version. Safe to do without losing important files?
You don't have to uninstall x6. Some people have half a dozen versions of PSP installed. All versions co-exist nicely.
