Fading Questions

Post by twoglongo »

I am a PS8 user and am looking at UVS as an alternative.

Fading Video - I want to be able to fade video in and out. To do this in PS8 I use a title and delete the wording and place it into the time line.

UVS doesn't allow for this that I can tell.

What is the general opinion of those use use PS and UVS?

Thanks,
THoff

Insert a colored patch (probably black) before or after the video, and then use one of the fades. You can find solid color patches in the Effect tab by dropping down the category combobox.

Thanks, I had the same question and that answer saved me tons of time and worked like a charm.

Fading in from any colour would normally require the colour panel (set to play for however long you want it) then a cross-fade transition (in Transitions > F/X). Fading out would require the colour panel preceded by either the cross-fade or, if the panel is black, fade to black (also in the F/X directory). You can also vary the length of the transition using the little clock panel up in the top left of screen and with the transition highlighted.
