Can you make a few video clips available to download, you would have to upload to a sharing site, Microsoft One Drive, Google Drive work well.

I am quite willing to give them a go on my pc, although I run windows 7, it may be a windows 10 issue.

Are you having any other issues in using the libraries samples, any errors or re-link requests?

I had a lot of problems with a new Lenovo laptop, turned out to be the graphics driver needed an update, as I said a brand new PC, you would not expect that.

I guess I am asking that you check the manufacturers web site for any updates.
Thanks lata!

In the past two days, I have been using the old X4 on my old computer (windows 7) with the same clips and I don't have any problems whatsoever. Are you saying X9 will work with Windows 7? The last time I talked to Corel they told me they had a lot of issues with Windows 7 and that I would need to download a lot of hot fixes. At that point, I was going to buy a new computer that ran windows 10 so I didn't pay much attention to what they're referring to.

The sample videos are mostly wmv and mp4 while my clips are 100% mts. I tried them anyway, put enough short clips together to make a video just one minute long. I even added a sound track to it. Things were all well until I saved and reopened the file. It played up to 47 seconds then the dreadful "Corel VideoStudio has stopped working" window popped up and death became it.

The new laptop is a Dell. I will go on their website to see if there's any updates available.

Since I can use x4 with windows 7, do you still want me to upload a few of my clips for you to try? I think I have some space in Google that I can use.

Hi althetrainer

Yes CVSX9 works ok with windows 7

The windows Updates that affected all versions of video studio did not affect the download version of X9, it did however affect the Disc version which then required the HotFix to allow the program to run. That was just a matter of timing as to when the actual program files were released to the public for sale.
What we ended up with was two versions, the disc and the download each having their own version number.
The download version does not require a Hot Fix, however Corel made that available purely to update the version numbers.

I don’t have a problem running CVSX9 on Windows 7.

You will find details of all Hot Fixes on this post.
http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=58892

I don’t understand Corel’s comment regarding “downloading a lot of fixes”

Are you now saying you have crash issues on X4 and X9?
Out of the two programs X9 should be the best for HD video.

I only use video types from my Pana 900 series camcorder MTS with no problems. some use video from Iphones, tablets etc. that can cause some problems, Mov and MP4 have caused problems in the past and will continue to do so the next time a new phone is released. That’s progress.

As for downloading samples yes you can do that, there have been other reports of MTS types giving problems, whether that is the users pc or the program is difficult to prove, as I say most do not have problems?
I will be on holiday from Friday 5th for 10 days so wont be able to test those files during that period.

If you do not have space on Google try Microsoft One Drive.

Thanks for your reply. I don't know why I am not getting post notifications anymore. Good thing I decided to come here to check.

Corel never explained to me about the download version vs disc version. Since they offered me a discount on an upgrade from the previous version I assumed they're talking about the download version. In that case, their "fixes" probably meant the "hot fixes" that you just told me about.

I am expecting better features with X9 too, only if I can get it to work. I did contact Corel support and got a representative asking me questions. Once I submitted the info of my new computer he said there's nothing he could do for me citing some sort of conflicts between Intel video driver and videostudio. According to him, the only thing I could do was to sit here and wait until someone in their tech department came up with a solution and there's no telling how long that would take.

I don't know what to think right now for this is a pretty ridiculous situation, at least for me. Fortunately, I still have my X4 on my old laptop. I can continue to use that one until one day a miracle happens and I can finally use my brand new computer and the new version of VS.

I have a feeling that my videos probably will work on your computer with windows 7. I very much appreciate your offer to help but I think at this point we should just wait to see if Corel can come up with something to fix the problem. When you get back from your holidays and if the problem is still not fixed I will burden you to have a look at my clips. Until then, keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks again!

Hi

Sorry to hear there is an issue with Intel, you would think Corel would be working on that 100%
It may be worth contacting Intel for their thoughts, that’s if you haven’t completely given up, which I can understand.

If you have X4 on an old Laptop look out for the deal Corel are offering for X9 Ultimate $15 , £11.99 uk, although you say they have given you an offer.

Good luck

Yea, I have a feeling that I can't count on Corel to fix the problem for me. I am not sure what to tell Intel though - do I tell them that a software that I want to use doesn't work with their driver and that they need to do something about it? One would think it should be the other way around!

Corel did give me an offer but it was $45 upgrade vs. $15 buying new. The $15 promotion sounds like a great deal but in order to put the X9 on my Windows 7 laptop I would have to turn windows updates back on. I still have X4 on that computer and so far that's the only version that still works (as long as I block Windows updates indefinitely). After trying X8 and X9 and neither one of them worked I am a bit nervous and I don't want to do anything to jeopardize the only working version. It's a toss up and I don't see myself winning either way.

Regarding notifications, I do have "notify me when a reply is posted" checked under "options" but still not getting it in my email. Very strange.

My Mp4 clips from my Android phone crash X9. I converted them to .MOV but I get pops and clicks with the audio. Mention was made of maybe problem with the Intel video driver. I'm wondering if my pops and clicks problem with versions X7 to X9 with DVD burn and now the MOV clips in editing could be the Intel video driver. DVD burn and edit with X6 worked ok. I have been using X6 with updates hidden, 3 of them, but yesterday could not open it and don't have info on possible recent Windows update that needs to be hidden to make X6 work.

I will try converting the Android Mp4s to something other than MOV to see if I can get rid of pops and clicks. Any ideas as to what kind of file I should convert to?

thanks,

MP4 is mpg - I presume you have converted to mpeg-2 - sometimes just using a converter to convert your phone mp4's to mp4 will cure the problem - did you try that

Brian: Hi, yes I converted it to MPEG-2.

I just tried converting the MPEG-4 (from my cell phone) to MPEG-4 and tried the 2nd one but after I have opened it to the library and click on it to play, X9 crashes.

Good news. Corel has just released a quick patch for those with the Intel driver compatibility issue. http://www.videostudiopro.com/en/support/updates/

I downloaded and worked on it for 10 minutes so far no crash. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Hi I upgraded from x5 to x9.
For several days I created various DVDs within that pop up program that creates DVDs.
Suddenly running that pop up screen would crash.
I reinstalled x9, installed the SP1 pack, new project and went straight to this pop up Dvd program. It still crashes. I cannot create final dvd files.
Please help.
I have a new dell xps computer, win 10, 64bit

I am still having problems with X9, black video but audio when played as clips, played as project ok. Now my MTS files are playing on the timeline with clicks and pops.

I tried the Service packs for both X8 and X9 and get message "installed version not located". Any ideas?

Others on this forum who have tried to help have played my clips I downloaded on One Drive but they play ok on their OS Windows 7.

I finally contacted Corel support, tried things they suggested including uninstall and reinstall X9 until it got too much for me, came to the end of my abilities so I thanked them and gave up.

Back to the message I'm getting (attached), any ideas why I'm getting it with Service Packs downloads?

thanks for help.

Hi Candy

The message you see is Corels way of telling you that the Service Pack is already installed.

Go to Help – About, your version should be 19.2.0.4
The “2” in that number indicates SP2 has been installed.

and 18.6.0.6 for CVSX8

Audio blips

I believe you had problems in the past where we advised that you try re-installing your audio drivers, from memory you intended getting a friend to help with that process. Did you ever manage to uninstall the audio driver?
