Corel videostudio X8 ultimate Screen capture problem

Corel videostudio X8 ultimate Screen capture problem
Screen capture. The program has not ever worked. My error message when the screen capture stops before the count down ends. Prepare Record Failed!!! #50 Does anybody have any ideas? thanks Magoo

There have been some problems with screen capture and this error message.
Do a search of the forum does find several posts.
This post seems to indicate an audio setting relating to Surround Sound.

Otherwise have you tried re-installing your audio drivers?
Or check the ADM web site to make sure you are using the latest drivers?

Trevor, thank you for your help and suggestions, I am working up the courage to go to the site you offered to check on my drivers, I am a computer coward, I am afraid to do anything I am not familiar with lol. It seems there was a place I could go in my computer to check and see if the audio was working. but I cant remember where it was. Thanks again Trevor, Jack

Your profile to the right of your posts show the pc having a separate Sound Card, some pc’s use the on board audio on the Main/Mother Board, I assume on board audio is being used.
If you uninstall the audio from Program and Features, when you re-boot the pc a default driver from Microsoft will be installed giving you audio capabilities.
Then try the Screen Capture again.
If you are still worried doing that do you know any other person that may help to re-install your Audio drivers.

Hi Trevor thank you again for your advice and help, I thought I would mention that I did receive a email from corel. They thought it might be a issue that I had to make sure my speakers were in stereo mode, it didn't help I got the same error message. They are trying. Anyway, yes I do I have some one I can get to help me check those drivers, again thanks for your help and ideas. Jack

Hi Trevor, I hope you see this, I am embarrassed to say, I don't know which program you're suggesting that I uninstall, could you let me know and I will try, I haven't had much luck getting some help from family. Thanks for your help. Jack

Trevors not around at the moment - I no longer have Windows 7 (or an AMD card)
so from memory
click on the 'Start' button and from the right hand half of the pop-up - choose 'Control Panel'
now (depending on what layout you have selected) - EITHER click on 'Uninstall a program' at the bottom OR click on 'Programs and features'
a window should open listing all the programmes on your computer - may take a little while to fully populate
near the beginning you should find something like "AMD Audio Driver' " - click on that and the option to unistall will appear - select that.
close down your computer completely - wait a few seconds - and restart - default audio driver should install by itself.
