Editing chapter menus - VS X7
I'm trying to create a chapter menu for my project, which has 11 chapters. The template I selected puts the first six chapter titles on the first page and puts the remaining five titles on a second page. I'd like to get everything on one page. Can't seem to find a way to do this. Is it possible?
Also, while I'm editing my menu, I'm wanting to zoom in so I can actually see what I'm typing. Is there a way to do that?

Re: Editing chapter menus - VS X7
Hi
The last version to have 12 thumbnails / links was UCVS9, that’s 10 years ago.
Best we can do with the program is 8 links.
However …………
There are some menus provided by rjkok67, link on this post
http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php ... 84#p313884
Maybe those will help.
Zooming to text, that’s a problem, don’t think there is any way to do that.
You could try Copy and Paste from notepad, at least you can see what you are typing.
The name of the actual clip should be used by default so if that is correct should reduce the need to change the text?

Hi Trevor,
M. Steve Jones had lots of Shared DVD Menus on the link you provided, but I get « HTTP 404, Not found » message.
Are these still available ?

Steve left the forums back in 2010, I assume some of his links may still be active although others may not.
If you can give me the Post url then I will try to tidy them up.
Re: Editing chapter menus - VS X7
Thanks! I will check that out. Kind of odd that there are only a handful of templates built in. With the old software that I started with, there were dozens of templates.lata wrote:Hi

Re: Editing chapter menus - VS X7
Hi zarchy
There should be the same amount of DVD Menu templates available using VS 7, there are some additional ones downloaded from the Corel Guide Do-More section, Menu pack, and MenuPack2
Select the orange disc above the library.
How many templates do you see from the Menu Gallery?

The post I went is http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=19453, page 1 the « zip » files. This is where I got the HTTP 404, Not found message. The rest of the links ( pages 1 through 3) are « media9 » and « driveway » sites which seem to be sort of « Cloud sites » to which you have to Login or something like that.lata wrote:JaRoJaRo wrote:Hi Trevor,

Too bad, nobody can provide Free DVD Menus or Instant Project Templates like I did. I'm not an expert, but sometimes it's nice to see what others can do.

Re: Editing chapter menus - VS X7
Hi JaRo
The post you refer is very old - 2006, A program called Photo Impact was the only program used to create templates from scratch, that program is no longer supported by Corel although may still be available via the US site?
We can however customise Menu templates using Video Studio and save to our favourites folder giving us a personalise template, unfortunately limited to 8 maybe 9 links.
Downloads from the Corel Guide increases our galleries, how many menu templates do we need?
Instant Projects
Well maybe the name is a little misleading, seems to indicate a full project when in reality they create introductions or small projects used at the beginning / ends of the main projects.
Again the Corel Guide has a lot of templates to download 80 +, even if we don't use them they are a good reference as to what can be achieved.
Advanced Motion seems to be used a lot animate our clips.

Re: Editing chapter menus - VS X7
I made some modifications to a template, and would like to save it as a new template. At the bottom of page 222 in the users manual, it says "Click Add to Menu Template to add the template to the Favorites folder. I'm just not finding this "Add to Menu Template" thing anywhere. Where's it hiding?

Re: Editing chapter menus - VS X7
Hi zarchy
1 / From the Gallery choose a template
2 / Edit Tab – select Customise
This allows you to change the default layout.
Notice the drop down panel named Navigation Buttons.
Depending on your chosen template different options are available, Frame and Layout
Once you change anything to the template the words “Add to Template Menu” will be visible below the preview screen.
This will save files to the Favourites folder here.
C:\Users\Trevor\Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\19.0\Favourites
The template will be available from the Gallery / Favourites category

Thanks for the info! Let's say I've already customized my menu and saved my project. Will the "Add to Template Menu" option be available then? The things that I've customized are text fonts, text box positions, removal of background music, motion settings. I want all these things to be saved so that if I do a similar project in the future, I won't have to repeat my steps and/or keep track of what they were.

Hi zarchy
You can use the new template again which is saved to the Gallery - Favourites page.
You should then be able to see exactly what details have been saved?
