Hi csleep

Personally I would keep the slide show simple ( kiss)

Transition would be Crossfade and no Pan and Zoom
Just simply display the images for people to view.

Easy to do so you should be able to try other options, just create a few projects.
And if no audio even better / quicker to do.

And with 300 images about 30 / 40 minutes run time.

Good luck

JaRo I think you are using X8
I have created a copy of the IP with X6 so csleep you should be able to open, download the folder, Unzip the file and add the entire folder to :-

C:\Users\UserName\Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\VSPTemplate

The template should then show in the Instant Projects library - custom page.

https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=1 ... file%2czip

JaRo, you should also be able to open this with X8
I easily opened it in my X8. I have X4, X5 and X6 on one computer and only X8 on my second and main computer. I wanted to re-install X6 on my computer, but I'm afraid this would bring problems with my X8. Nevertheless, I think that X8 (basic) is great and everyone should get it. It is not that expensive and better (from what I've read on the Web) better than X8.5 and X9.

Trevor, (I write it again) you're a Wiseman for me.

Hi Trevor...

Yes, I am doing just that, trying to keep it as simple as possible... I am putting a 10 second duration on each picture...( run time should be approx 50 minute) the reason for the longer duration is 1/ looks nicer moving than being still at that length of time, 2/ if I choose to put text on some pictures....the picture stays on the screen long enough for people read and 3/if people should want to talk about a picture....its on the screen long enough to do so.... I am just about finished organizing the photos in the library...I am going to try to add 7 title screens throughout "family" "friends" the 60's 70's, 80's, 90's, 2000...adding pictures of occurrences during those decades....once this slideshow is finished, then I have another for my husbands mother who is turning 80 in fall....I have her folder of pictures ready to go as well....I LOVE taking pictures, ..I have thousands and its nice being able to put them in a story...having a blast!

As far as I'm concern, you can add as many Placeholders you need into an Instant Project. One way is to copy everything you have on your timeline by clicking on the first Placeholder, hold Shift Key and click on the last Placeholder. Once the selection is done copy it and paste it after the last Placeholder. To succeed with this, you have to copy each track one by one, paste it at the end of each and adjust when necessary. But for me, I find it easier to simply insert the same Instant Project or any other one on the timeline.

See this link as example (Project for csleep) : https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=1 ... lder%2cjpg
Hi JaRo

I have been looking at the instant projects and comparing them with other options, I had thought that we needed to replace image clips individually.
I have always used Drag and Drop + Ctrl from the library to do that.

But if we select multiple images we can right click a clip and replace all Clips, that makes Instant Projects easier to change especially if we wish to replicate slide shows.

I tried this on the Project for csleep, worked well with 28 clips replacing all in one go.

Fast Flick could do that but I have been unable to create a template to set a simple crossfade on all clips, just alternate clips, maybe a bug in Fast Flick?

Anyway JaRo, nice work.

Trevor....even though you showed me how to add more placeholders (images) to instant projects, thank you......the daunting task of needing to replace image clips individually was disappointing! I also was unhappy with how I needed put images in the placeholders....I thought i had to click on each placeholder number/ right click/replace clip/photo...then go on a find! I was frustrated that drag/drop was putting the picture NEXT to the numbered placeholder, not in it...ugh! reading your above post, I realize I was doing the drag/drop+ctrl wrong! There is a sequence to follow in order for the picture to go directly into the numbered placeholders...click/hold on picture...then ctrl...then drag down...yeh! Now I am interested in how you were able to replace 28 at once! I tried what you suggested above with no luck and don't have "replace all clips"........maybe x6 doesn't offer this feature?....or....my sequence of how I am doing this is wrong....or....I am misunderstanding your instructions?

Thank you..

Hi csleep

X6 does allow us to replace several clips.

Try this
Start a new project
Add several images from the library , 5 will do.
Click first image to select, then Shift + Click last image to select all clips
Now right click and choose Replace Clip, notice (5) shows
Navigate to your new images to choose 5 images

Trevor....it worked.....somewhat....I am doing something wrong...

I dragged a new instant project into the timeline....
I selected the 5 photos..in the library...when I highlight them all (in the library) and right click, my only choice is to assign them into the timeline somewhere...so I chose Video track...
Now the images have gone into the first track after the "ending" scene of the instant project...
I highlighted all 5 images and YES...I do see replace clip (5)....but my choices are video/photo....I chose photo and a pop up box appeared...replace/relink clip...
I think I am misunderstanding your last statement "Navigate to your new images to choose 5 images"

Thank you for your time...

Hi

Do not use the library or drag and drop.,

To clarify

Select the clips on the timeline by using Shift + Click
Right click this selection to find Replace Clip, a number will show the amount you have selected

Navigate / browse your hard drive for the new images.

Trevor....

Okay, this method worked! In your previous post you had stated to add several images from the library after inserting instant project, which is what I was doing and trying get those 5 images to import into the placeholders somehow...my misunderstanding... you would think doing a slideshow, either manually or using instant project, would work the same way for both...browsing to a folder, where pictures cannot be organized and a small window to work with, is just extra work/steps... in the library, at least the images can be organized and in plain site to work with and the ability to enlarge the screen.....I have my 300+ photos in my library, I have enlarged the viewing area temporarily, and for the last two days I have been moving them all around to get them in the order I would like for the final slideshow...whats great... they stay in order when I close/reopen the program...I cannot do this in a folder...so....my conclusion about instant projects is this..they are great for under 50 photos or so...would be nice to see this feature work the same as manual one day.....thank you Trevor for all you input and advice though......greatly appreciated :)
