Thanks Joe, I need to experiment more, but when I tried a minute ago, using the zoom, the image desaturated again.

Things are kind of hectic around here for the next few days so I don't have time to check things out. Perhaps the info I gave you was false recollection. I'll check it out next week sometime and get back to you. Yes, you can do similar things with PSP but it's more time intensive (selections with varying feathering, etc.) while Viveza feathers and blends very well when performing various operations within a control point and it's quite effortless. I have used it for some years - not needed on lots of stuff but definitely has helped me out with other lots of stuff!Joelle wrote:Thanks Joe, I need to experiment more, but when I tried a minute ago, using the zoom, the image desaturated again.

Re: Nik collection now free
I installed this by copying the Nik folder to the Plugins folder and then using the Preferences and Folder Locations option to point to the Nik folder. All the plugins show up but when I tried to use any of them, I got the error message: "Plugin passed bad parameters" and then it quit.
Anybody that was able to get these to work that could possibly post a step-by-step installation so that I can see if I did something wrong?

Re: Nik collection now free
I downloaded and installed quickly and with no problems. This Nik Collection is for 64bit PSP and I have PSPX8 on Windows 10 so I cannot say how or if they will work on previous versions of either PSP or Windows.
I have a Plug-Ins folder that contains all my custom plugins I download. This folder is not on my C drive but on a different hard drive. When I clicked the Nikcollection-full-2-11.exe I am asked where it is to be installed. I chose my Plugins folder on my separate hard drive. I now have Nik Software for 32bit that was previously installed and now Nik Collection which also works on 32bit. I did not have to do File Locations because PSPX8 Plugins folder is already selected due to all my previous filters and plugins in there, whether for 64 or 32bit versions.
I never add/install anything custom to Corel Paintshop Pro folders on the system drive. I opened PSPX8 64bit and the plugins are all ready for me to use. I've never had some of the filters in this collection before, so it will be nice learning something new again.

I unpacked everything and dropped it into the plugins folder for PSP X8 and apparently that was wrong. I followed your method and it works now! Thanks so very much!

Re: Nik collection now free
For those who are still stuck using older versions of PSP like me, I've modified a bunch of scripts based on jsj's v2 scripts from here so that the entire free Nik collection can work with my PSP X4. Thanks to jsj for providing the original scripts.
The original scripts did not work on PSP X4 due to a command that was unrecognized so I've had to work around that (details and instructions in the zipped attachment's readme.txt file).
As I only have PSP X4, I cannot say how well these modified scripts will work on newer versions, but should work on older versions from PSP X to X4. I've tested them successfully on my PSP X4 on Windows 10. So for what it's worth, I'm sharing them here for other users of older PSP versions who want to use the free Nik collection.

While I don't use X4, I wanted to say thanks for your work in helping those with older versions have a method of getting the plugins to work for them.

Maybe one of the Admins or Mods could move or copy this to the Scripting sub-forum so it doesn't get lost.akbh wrote:For those who are still stuck using older versions of PSP like me, I've modified a bunch of scripts based on jsj's v2 scripts from here so that the entire free Nik collection can work with my PSP X4.
