Hi there,
I'm new here, so hello and many thanks for any help.
I'm a long-time but very intermittent user of PSP, and have recently bought X8 Ultimate for my new Win10 desktop.
This morning I managed to work out how to load the Perfectly Clear plugin, and wanted to use it to process a batch of pics I took walking with my wee dog last Friday. I couldn't see a reference to Perfectly Clear in the list of scripts that came up when I launched batch process, though, so I went away and read up on scripting.
I created a very simple script. On the loaded image 1. launch Perfectly Clear 2. Apply Landscape 3. Accept the image 4. Save. It didn't work first time and I saw a reference to restricted scripts which reminded me that I'd encountered that problem when I last tried simple scripting in PSP (must be 10 years ago, so I'd forgotten). I found the trusted folder, though, and copied the script to it and tried again. This time the process hung after offering me the chance to confirm that the first picture was okay. I tried again with fewer pictures in the batch (just 4) but I had the same problem.
To try to work out whether it was an issue with Perfectly Clear or whether I was just doing something wrong in writing the script I created a new one, this time using the built-in PSP Smart Photo Fix i.e. 1. Apply Smart Photo Fix 2. Accept the result 3. Save. When I ran the script on 3 pictures it worked perfectly and didn't require any input from me.
I'd rather use Perfectly Clear -- I had the impression that it was worth having, which is why I went for the Ultimate package. If it just won't work with a batch, though, I don't want to waste any more time trying. Can anyone please help?
Many thanks,
P

I'm not too sure what's happened with your script, but I would advise doing it again and saving to the Restricted folder.
I just opened a photograph and began recording a script with Perfectly Clear. All went well. I closed the photograph and opened a different one then applied the script. It opened Perfectly Clear and applied the settings I chose without any problem. Try again and see how you go.

Re: Perfectly Clear hangs on batch process
Many thanks, trueblue.
In fact, I got it to work late yesterday be rewriting the script without the 'save' part i.e. just 1. open Perfectly Clear 2. apply the Landscape option. I think I tried that earlier too, but may not have made the right choices for save/re-naming when I ran the Batch Process.
I've got the script in the Trusted folder, but I'll try moving it to the Restricted one and see whether it will still work.
Many thanks again for trying to help -- much appreciated

Re: Perfectly Clear hangs on batch process
I can confirm that something is not quite right. I recorded a very simple script using Perfectly Clear 2 by making some changes with the sliders and clicking OK.
When I do a batch process of the script in silent mode all goes well; however, when I do a batch process of the script in interactive mode the script will process (sometimes all and sometimes just some of) the images and then hangs. The only way out at this point is to kill PSPX8 via the task manager.
