I imported 2400 pictures into Corel videostudio X8 ultimate and Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2015.
videostudio took about 2min to import these pics, while premiere only took about 10 sec.
Why videostudio takes so long to import pictures?

Perhaps because in the background, VS appears to create an index of all added images which is used to detect if a image has changed and therefore needs to be relinked.
