Can't zoom out on title - other options?

Post by fingerbreaker »

Hello Corel experts,

I want a title to grow from nothing to full size and move dynamically as it does so. The problem is that the font I want to use crowds itself unless it's above 30 pt (at which point it's already quite large on the screen). So if I set it to 5 pt to make it tiny and then use pan/zoom to enlarge it, it's completely illegible. But if I try to go the other way and set it to >30 pt, there's no option to zoom out (100% is the minimum zoom) to then make it tiny (and then reverse the video). I can snap a picture of the large font and shrink that as an overlay image, but then it becomes a block of pixels not a title and I need the underlying image to show through the letters.

The only thing I can think of, which I dread having to do, is to make a series of titles strung together, increase the font size with each successive title, and position/move each one so that it looks like a single title growing and moving smoothly. I really can't imagine going through all that effort and having it look anything other than a trainwreck. Any other good options?

Thanks for any advice,

Okay, that's what I needed. I had actually started with the animation zoom earlier but I misunderstood the customization dialogue and didn't realize I could zoom it to 0. That combined with a pan effect gave me just what I needed. Thanks!

Hi

What version of Video Studio are you using.
The size of the font varies depending on the project properties, so using 720… x will show a larger font than 1920 x…

So what are your project properties?
What font type are you using and font size?

You do not give details as to how you are zooming the text.

There are manual settings we can apply.
Create your text, on screen click to select
Choose Attributes tab – apply animation as Zoom
Click the two TT’s for a manual approach
Set your Zoom start and End, experiment with these settings

Other options
Create the text box, right click clip on timeline and choose Customise Motion
Set your Sizes associated with the keyframes.

Ok just read your last reply and you seem to be ok, although the above may give you other options??

Trevor - thanks, your reply is very helpful, if only slightly less timely! I didn't know about the "customize motion" option - that's a good one for future reference. Thanks very much for your help!
