The reason for my reappearance is that I regrettably had to abandon my trusty Win XP computer (I tripped over a cable and it came crashing down to the floor...
I have my original X8.0 Ultimate installation files (I took the precaution of downloading the 64-bit versions too), and now see from various articles on the Forum that the latest version to upgrade to (without paying for X9) is X8.5. Looking at the link at http://www.videostudiopro.com/en/suppor ... sion-tab=1, I see that there are a host of hotfixes and Service Packs (7 to be precise), to wit:
2015-03-20: Boris Graffiti plug-in for Corel VideoStudio X8 Ultimate
2015-03-20: Corel VideoStudio X8 Pro/Ultimate Help files
2015-07-06: Corel VideoStudio X8 Service Pack 1
2015-08-06: Corel VideoStudio X8.5 Update
2015-09-01: Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X8.5 Hotfix
2015-11-30: Corel VideoStudio X8 Service Pack 3 (whatever happened to SP2??)
2016-02-11: Corel VideoStudio X8.5 Hotfix 2
So my question is, starting with my original installation files, do I (a) have to install those first, and then all of the 7 above in chronological order? Or (b) Install the original, then SP3 (which possibly includes all the previous updates) and then Hotfix 2 only? Or (c) Skip the original installation and install SP3 and Hotfix 2 only? Or (d) Something else like Original minus plugins -> SP3 -> Hotfix -> Original Plugins after installing SP3?
Regards, Tanguero
P.S. I promise to update my "Missing Installation Manual for X8" sticky post with this update information once I have it figured out and installed successfully (though given X9 release it may be of limited use except to the extent that the installation procedure hasn't changed from X8 to X9).
