I have just bought PSP X8 after having to rebuild my PC into Windows 10 rather than Windows 7.
I still have my old discs though and have my old "Default.pspworkspace" file to hand.
I have renamed it "OldDefault.pspworkspace" and saved it to my new install of X8. However when I go to Load the workspace, only the standard newly install "Default" is shown in the available list of workspaces.
How can I make the old one available? I am trying to avoid remembering and rebuilding my favourite layout and toolbar changes.

Re: Moving an X4 default workspace to X8
In order for a workspace to be available to PSP you need to point to it under File -> File Locations -> Workspaces.
However, I would strongly recommend against using an X4 workspace with X8 and I'm not even sure it's possible. There have been a number of changes to the code between versions X4 and X8 and forcing an older workspace may give you unexpected and not so pleasant results.

I confirm : some new tools disappear from X8 when an old workspace is loaded.Kathy_9 wrote:forcing an older workspace may give you unexpected and not so pleasant results.

Thanks both,
Looks like I am better off setting up a new one then. All I really wanted was my preferred toolbar button set as I had grown so used to it.

Re: Moving an X4 default workspace to X8
If you had done quite extensive customization and can't remember where everything was located, you can always also reinstall X4 and its workspace and you'll have it as a template to work from while customizing X8. You will find that some tools might be slightly different and that there are newer tools you didn't have but it could be a good way to start out.Misty2k wrote:Thanks both,
