Hello Corel Users,
I need some help with setting up a digital documentary for our construction projects. I'm a general contractor and for years we have taken digital pictures and videos to document the progress of our projects. I just upgraded from PSP5.. to 8 and want to better understand the proper way to set up my files. The final output will be a video for online viewing. The pictures will be created from DSLR and phone cameras and filed by month. There can be HD video as well and I use Pinnacle video software to create the movie.
So, what is the correct procedure to edit the picture files to be used in a online video and perhaps a DVD or BluRay for TV viewing. All pictures will be taken in JEPG (we're builders not photographers) and once we sort the good from the bad what is the next step? Do we first resize the pictures and to what size, should the adjustments and/or editing take place after the resize or before?
I'm looking to get the best quality for the final output and make sure I'm not doing something that degrades the final product and/or creates unnecessary steps or time putting it all together. We are just starting a custom home build and have a few months of pictures. In the end there will be several months of pictures. We try to sort the good from bad as we go and after the project is complete we create the video.

OK, so I've been reading over several websites regarding picture size for video and it seems that if we are exporting HD video in 1080p we would then want to crop or resize the photos to 1920x1080.
Questions: 1. for the best quality and time management should we capture our images in 1920x1080?
2. should we shoot in the camera's best JEPG setting and largest size and crop or resize later
3. Is there a way in PSP8 to set a crop box to 1920x1080 and adjust the location of the crop within the picture?

2. Yes
3. Yes. You draw a crop box and save it for later. You crop inside the picture and may reduce your crop (it will stay proportionnal). After cropping, resize to 1920x1080.
