PSP X4 Brush Flow?
I just got a Wacom Intuos Tablet and I'm going through the tutorials on ctrlpaint.com. I noticed that a property called "flow" keeps being mentioned in relation to the brush tool in Photoshop, and it differs from opacity in all of the explanations I've read. However, there doesn't seem to be a comparable option in PSP. Does anyone know if there's a way to adjust that quality in PSP?

You are comparing PSP with PS and your Wacom. Most often pen/tablet behaves slightly different from software to software. You are using a much older PSP and that has really been off the radar for some time. We are now using PSPX8 and works very well with a pen and tablet. I'm sorry I can't be of more help to you.

Re: PSP X4 Brush Flow?
I looked at a video of Flow v Opacity
http://www.ctrlpaint.com/videos/opacity-vs-flow
which showed the opacity fading in from light to dark.
This can be done using the Brush Variance Palette.(F11)
Under Opacity select Fade In and below make Fade Rate large approx 4000.
Carry out the scribbling action shown in the video and you get a very close approximation

Re: PSP X4 Brush Flow?
The brush variance palette is ONLY for pen and tablet users, it does not function with the mouse.
Pressure with the pen works normally from light to heavy depending how you handle the pen. The heavier you press the thicker the stroke, the lighter, the thinner the stroke and it will tail off. Art Media is good for using the pen and tablet but the brush variance is not functional with that.

Re: PSP X4 Brush Flow?
Well I did get the effect using a mouse and I think it was time dependent rather than pressure although I guess it could be made pressure dependent.
