Hi guys
An odd one for you (perhaps).
I last used my VS X6 in Oct 15 to make my first blu-ray disc and succeeded with help from you guys.
When I attempted to open the programme earlier today nothing happened. I had the revolving wheel for a few seconds and then it disappeared and my VS6 did not open.
I then tried opening the VSP file I created in October with the same result.
I have since uninstalled and reinstalled VS6 pro twice, from the dvd, but still it will not open.
Any ideas what the problem might be?
I am still using the same Medion pc with Windows 7 ( I am reluctant to upgrade to 10 having heard bad reports) and the only difference to my system that I can think of is that I upgraded my AVG protection in January but as my pro 6 disc advises that the installation is complete I have tended to discount the AVG factor.
I am now unsure that even if I upgrade to VS9 that this will open as I may have some kind of bug preventing the VS programmes from working properly.
unable to open VS X6 Pro programme

I am not sure if Vista had the same updates as Windows 7 - it is very likely that it did - in which case you share your problem with a few thousand others around the world
this topic should help you - http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=58668

Wow!! I thought I would be the only one but have read the links.
Thanks for the info.
Can anyone tell me how to uninstall the offending updates?
Many thanks
Mark

Perhaps you should update your signature which says you are using Vista but your posts says you are using W7markpritch wrote:Wow!! I thought I would be the only one but have read the links.

Re: unable to open VS X6 Pro programme
Thanks Brian
I have now deleted those three updates of Feb 11th (KB 3134814, 3126587, 3126593) restarted my PC and it all works.
Many thanks indeed. I've now blocked all new updates and will leave at that until I purchase a newer version of VS.
Cheers

Re: unable to open VS X6 Pro programme
you could just Hide the offending update so that they do not install again - but still allow all others
details re hiding in the main topic I directed you to before

Re: unable to open VS X6 Pro programme
Thanks Brian.
I've had a fresh scroll through but couldn't find anything on hiding the updates, just deleting and then stopping auto install, which I've done.
I'm quite happy to have none until I get X9.
Cheers
