Videostudio X8.5 Pro -- video won't render

Post by Mermaid Tears »

I'm having the most frustrating time with the program right now. After spending several hours editing a video, I go to the "Share" tab to try rendering it into a playable video so I can upload it to YouTube, I keep getting this error message:

This happens with every video I try to render and I also get the message when I close the program after my attempts fail. I'm running on Windows 7 64 bit. What should I do to fix this problem?

This means not one of your video clips can be rendered/shared? If this is true, then you need to give us some specific details about your videos: the source, format, frames per second, resolution, bits per second, etc. If you have not tried to render one video clip inserted into the timeline, please try that and without adding any filters or any other edits. I am just trying to understand how bad is your situation.

I tried to render a video without any sort of overlay, cuts, etc. and it's still acting weird. Here's the properties of the video I'm trying to work with:

I've never had a problem like this with a video editing program.

You haven't told us very much

first is your copy of Videostudio fully patched - go to "Help >> About" and tell us what the version number is - it is the block of 4 numbers under the picture starting with 18

You say you go to "Share" and the error comes up - when does it come up - straight away or after you select an output - talk us through the procedure you use and what you see

your screen is not displaying properly you should see something like this when you click on share

Thanks for providing details of your video clips. Now give precise details about what you mean "acting weird"; as Brian above posts, you need to be much more specific in order to get useful help. It may be that you will need to remove X8 from your pc and re-install as many are using the program successfully to do the type of video you seem to be doing.

The version that I'm running is version 18.6.0.6

The error from the "Share" tab pops up as soon as I click onto it. Unfortunately, the list of video formats do not show up for me like it should. I get the error again when I close the program which doesn't make very much sense to me.

I uninstalled the program, ran a registry cleaner and reinstalled it and I'm still getting the problem. I'm going to try again to see if I did something wrong with that somewhere along the line.

Hi

Sorry you are having these problems, I suffered a few years ago, never did find the actual culprit, neither did Corel when they took control of my PC.

For me it was associated with Instant Projects, Also Settings – Project Properties – some templates were missing, at least that’s as far as I got

John in a recent post had Share templates missing? He has just replied and after a few re-installations has fixed his problems, his post below

You can read some info here….

A few others on the forum also suffered, do a search of the forum

Its bad and very difficult to identify, I have tried to replicate the problem but so far my programs are working fine.

Are you using Instant Projects or Fast Flick?

Have you installed any older versions of CVSX

As horrible as this may sound, I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one having this frustrating error.

Thanks for linking me to those threads! I'll have to try the cleaning up and uninstalling several more times then. Hopefully something will yield a good result.
