videostudio proX9 - image distorted

Post by lbabusis »

just bought the VS pro 9 after using the VS proX5 for many years. The VS pro X9 seems working ok except it distorts the image when in portrait form rather than landscape form. how can I adjust this?

You will have to give a lot more information on your problem if you want any help. For example, what does "distorts the image" mean? What project are you doing, etc?

I'm making a slide/ video project using the VS proX9. When I import the photos to the story board, the pictures in the landscape format are fine, but the ones in the portrait format all appear squashed and stretched out to a landscape size and distorted. I tried the "keep the aspect ratio" in the setting/preference, but it did nothing.

Still could use some more information.

What video track are inserting your images to? The Main or one of the overlay tracks?
If in the Main track have you tried double-clicking an image, or clicking the Options tab to open the Photo / Attribute panels? In the Photo panel what is the Resampling Option set to? It should say Keep aspect ratio.
If you have dropped them onto an Overlay track, right-click on the image in the Preview and select either Default Size or Fit to Height. Since the issue is with Portrait orientation images, don't use Fit to width, or Fit to Screen. This will cause distortion. You might also select to Anchor in Center>Center.

What is your Project Settings? Image Size(s) being used?
