Video Studio X9 Ultimate Bug and BAD SUPPORT

Post by dipicorg »

I don't know if the Guy at Corels Support is a real person, but I don't think so.
I tired to report a Problem and the Answers are quasi all the same and had nothing to do with the reported Problem.

Whe You have more than one Monitor in use and You doubleclick in Corel Video Studios Mediabrowser a Sourcevideo, the Trimming Editor opens. Move this Editor to another Monitor and the try to jogg the Video with the Mouse. The Mousecursor jumps to the same Monitor, where the Mainscreen is opened and does not stay where the Trimm Editor is.

Working this way is terrible! Corel closed the case without a Solution. This is an inacceptable behaviour of Corel's Support.

If you also have more than one Monitor, try it for yourself. It happens on ANY COMPUTER with multiple Monitors.

Sorry I can not duplicate what you claim. When I use 2 monitirs, with the Trim Editor window on the 2nd montitor, I can move the mouse cursor without it jumping back to the main monitor

I agree with canuck. I have always used a second monitor with VS and never had problems with the cursor moving between monitors. With VS I use the second monitor for the preview screen as one of the great strengths of VS is the ability to move any of the three sections of the editor screen to a second monitor if required. The problem you have is nothing to do with VideoStudio and everything to do with your operating system.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.

May be than it's why I have 3 Monitors, not 2. And this also happens on a different System, so it's not only my Mainsystem:
Windows 7x64 Ultimate, 32GB RAM, 2TB Disk, 3x Samsung SyncMaster 2443BW, NVIDIA GTX 780 Video Card, Logitec Mice

The only Solution currently for me is to use the Mainmonitor (Primary Screen) for the Trim Editor.... and move the other
Windows (Child) Forms to different Monitors and not the Mainform.

BTW: I hope we all are talking (writing) about the "Position Weel", not the Slider...

You were talking about the MouseCursor ... now you are talking about the slider?????

Perhaps some more detail or a screenshot/capture would explain what you are talking about

I have to backtrack - the original poster is correct. He just did not mention before that he was using the "wheel" which I never use for adjusting the cursor.
As soon as you move the wheel the mousecursor jumps from the "secondary" screen to the main monitr screen. I have no idea if this also happens in other instances.

I would not call it an "ultimate bug" though, just a nuisance if you use the wheel.

I'll just jump in here and add that I am able to replicate the OP's problem. The mouse cursor does jump back to the main screen when using the jog wheel. However it is not reserved to just VSX9. The same occurs in an earlier version, VSX7 (the only other recent version I have installed). So I'm wondering if it may be a system issue, or Corel didn't write code that included multiple monitors. I say that since other programs I use, are coded for using multiple monitors. There is a button/icon to select the option, and any screens opened on a secondary monitor defaults to that when the program is closed and re-opened.
