Video Studio X8.5 ultimate Record/capture fail

For some reason I cannot use the Record/Capture function. I am using windows 7. I recently downloaded the hot fix, as the program VS X8 was not working. When I try to run the record/capture I get a error message Prepair Record Failed #50. The rest of the program seems to be working with no problems. I should note that prior to the problems of the program not working properly, I was able to use the Record/capture with my VS X5. Since downloading the fix for my VS X8, VS X5 does not run, will not open. I downloaded the 64 bit version of VS X8, this I am sure. Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks in advance. magoo

The problem probably resides in the fact that the fix is for VS X8. You try to open VS X5 and it is no more supported by Corel, therefore the hotfix doesn't work with X7 and below.

Success!! ... In addition to uninstalling updates KB3126587 and KB3126593, uninstalling KB3140410 has allowed X5 to run.

Thank you JaRo, I'm guessing you are correct, so now I have to uninstall updates? uninstalling X5 and reinstalling X5 will not help. Thanks again for your help Magoo

Hi JaRo well taking a chance lol I found updates KB3126587 and KB3126593 I uninstalled them, yippie ki yah my VSX5 is now working!!! thank you thank you
