ProDad Mercalli V4SAL
I have frequently used the Mercalli V2 plug-in with reasonable results given the bouncy nature of some footage taken from small boats and moving trains so when I read about ProDAD Mercalli V4 SAL I sent them a message to ask if they had a plug in of this version that would work with CVS X9. A firm answer "No" with the list of editing programs for which they did offer help was attached. So, in innocence I responded to ask if they were working on a solution for Corel VS. This morning I received a message from my server to say I had been "permanently stopped due to complaints". A very curious response but perhaps they don't want questions from Corel based product owners? Rather a shame since I had a genuine interest in purchasing something better than the current issue. Re: ProDad Mercalli V4SAL
If you look at the price of the stand-alone version of Mercalli 4.0, you will see it is more than twice the RRC of VS Ultimate. I nearly bought another editing bundle because it had the 4.0 plug-in, though in the end I desisted. Mercalli 2.0 still does pretty well what I normally want of it...

Hello,
I have been able to buy the Mercalli V4 SAL through a Sony promotion recently. I paid some 105€ - significantly less than the requested price on the websites. Testing this SAL-soft gave me good results, better than the V2 plug-in. I tested different raw shots that needed to be shot with a tripod or a monopod and to my surprise the results were "very" good. Since you can "cut" before exporting the footage, in many cases (of course depending of what you need as rushes) it can replace a tripod and gives nearly a jib effect.
For these 105€ it's a real qualitative bargain!

Re: ProDad Mercalli V4SAL
Collector, is that offer from Sony still available? I have since my last post signed up to the ProDad web site and been given free access to a trial version of Mercalli V4 with good results. Their branding of the footage limits it's use but I feel at "the right price" (not AUD $426.00) I would purchase a copy. Regards Skipper

Re: ProDad Mercalli V4SAL
I don't know how long this offer will last, but using Coupon code MV4-99 you can purchase for $US99, assume it is the full stand alone version
https://prodrenalin.com/mercalli-v4-sal-plus/
Update
Couldn't resist it, cost about $A140, downloaded and installed without a problem, looks very good

Hello down under,
No, the promo ended in Febr. and was for Sony customers only, I think. Filming with the AX100E and the PXW-FS5 in 4K.
All the best.

Re: ProDad Mercalli V4SAL
Collector, RobertOZ, thanks for the responses. Just looked up that USD $99 site - they only show $299 now so perhaps it was a typo that they now seriously regret? You are a lucky man Robert. I have been offered 20% off direct from ProDAD and will probably run with that since I have just about convinced myself I "want it" and already have used the trial version but would not incorporate the clips in my videos since they all have V4Mercalli written in the corner. Re: ProDad Mercalli V4SAL
Thanks Robert. I have just done it for the same very special price and having already downloaded the trial version, I needed only to unlock it! Much better than AUD S427.00 less 20%
Let the fun begin. Skipper

Re: ProDad Mercalli V4SAL
Glad you got it Skipper, notice that the site I obtained the Coupon Code from is no longer displaying it, must have been a 24 hour pro only, not sure however, how long the code will work, if any other user is interested

Yes, the Coupon is still working! Mind you their website is incredibly slow. But I am now the proud owner of the package myself!

Fine to read that the promo was (is) still available in some parts of the world.
And, what do you think? Worth the purchase?

Re: ProDad Mercalli V4SAL
Hi Collector. Seems like a good piece of kit if ever I can fathom how to work it all. Not the simple V2 plug in any more and if seeing is believing it can perform some truly worthwhile improvements. Make footage that may only be fit for the scrap heap recoverable if I can learn the finer points. Regards Skipper

Re: ProDad Mercalli V4SAL
I can only say that I agree!
I have only just started playing around with Mercalli 4 on a bad, very bumpy clip. I've tried quite a few settings, played around with the intensive repair options, changed settings, changed camera types... And the surprising conclusion I have reached so far is that the Mercalli which came with VS gave a better result when applied without much fiddling around.
Clearly M4 is much more sophisticated, and has many more options available. But equally obvious is the much steeper learning curve!!
Luckily, when the program opens you are offered a range of video tutorials. Now I will just have to find the time to start watching them!!
