I am pretty sure eons ago this was possible, but I rarely need it. Now I do. How can I merge several paths into a single vector object? Not a raster, but a vector.
Thanks to anyone who can help me.
ETA: What I need to do is create nodes on a part of it in order to make a curve. It involves about 5 paths (each involve straight lines of different colors and thicknesses) that all need to curve exactly the same way. If you have a better idea than combining them into a single path, I'm all ears. However, I'm trying to avoid creating nodes on each path separately because for whatever reason, they refuse to line up properly.
Again, thanks.

Re: Merging vector paths
There is a script called "VectorMergeSelected" you run which merges any two or more vectors you have selected at the time into a single path.
I did a tutorial showing how to merge two vectors into one to create a hole in a vector - https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8FlFL ... p=drivesdk
Not exactly the same but shows its use.
However, a single vector object can only have 1 fill color, 1 stroke color, 1 stroke width, and 1 line style. So if you're hoping to to maintain those individual aspects this won't work.
My suggestion would be to create a single path that bends exactly as you want. Then duplicate the path and delete the contours you don't need. It'll keep the shape of each contour and position that way. You can then apply the different styles to them as needed.

Re: Merging vector paths
Wow! Thank you! I can't believe I didn't think about doing the curve first, duplicating and then changing them. Excellent! Fortunately I saved all the colors as a palette so though it'll take some time to get it exactly right, it's doable.LeviFiction wrote:There is a script called "VectorMergeSelected" you run which merges any two or more vectors you have selected at the time into a single path.

Your tutorial is excellent! I've been using PSP since way back when it was PSP 4 or something, when Jasc still owned it, and I've never seen the merge script before. Very interesting and excellent tutorial!
Many thanks for both!
