I have never had a bad result from installing a Service Pack. I am sure that I did install this when I was using X7. I recall having lots of issues with .mov files created by my GH4 camera and for sure X8 and X9 have both been cured of all those problems. I don't recall if X7 solved the problems; by the way, .mov files can be very different from different cameras and other devices that create them. Thus best is to install that Service Pack and test it. If you still have troubles, upgrade to X9 is one way, another way is to come back here and post more details about the .mov file, namely resolution, frames per second, bits per second, how was the .mov file created and we may be able to help better.

I isolated 3 of 20 mov files that were causing the crash by inserting them all, 1 by 1 into a test project.I then had the option of not using them or converting them. With the generous help of some one far more knowable than myself, the 3 offending files were converted to mpg and were then usable without causing any problems.I think the issue is caused by slower frame rates mainly
