Hello everyone, I have a customer that wants me to mirror the type of callouts that were used in the following video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jpkzt_g ... e=youtu.be
Does anyone know if this is possible in VideoStudio x9? I've looked through all of the title options and it looks like it will be difficult to create the text labels the way they did then have them stick to that point as the footage moves. I could probably mimic the motion with custom motion paths for each label, but that would be very time consuming. I'm assuming whatever software they used to create the video automatically tracked the motion with the label for them. I'm thinking they used FinalCut Pro or something along those lines but I don't see an easy way to do it in Corel

As far as I can tell those are photos that use pan&zoom and not video clips. If I am correct, than you could do a two step project. One is to add the labels to the photos, render. Then the second step is to add pan&zoom. For sure it will still require much work.
BTW, I think Google maps can do this and so can Google earth. You should perhaps take a look at either or both of these programs to get an initial base to what you want and then add what you need.
In any case I am unaware of any program which will automatically do this.

Only a few are photos. Anyway I figured it out, they are using Final Cut Pro X and a plugin called TrackX. Unfortunately there is nothing even close for any other NLE. I shoot a lot of aerial real estate videos, virtual tours, etc and a customer wanted me to mimic this video. Unfortunately all we have in Corel is track motion and basic text labels, I would not be able to mimic the overlays, depth of field, or the very natural motion tracking behavior.aljimenez wrote:As far as I can tell those are photos that use pan&zoom and not video clips. Final Cut Pro, $US500 + Trackx plugin $US99, not really comparing apples with apples

I wasn't trying to compare anything to anything, I just wanted to know how they did it, and if anyone knew of anything comparable in VideoStudio. If I had Apple hardware I'd pay $600.00 without thinking twice to get those types of results, but my whole workflow and all of my software is Intel based.RobertOZ wrote:Final Cut Pro, $US500 + Trackx plugin $US99, not really comparing apples with apples

Then try Adobe Premiere Pro or After Effects if money is no object, I have then both and they are more than adequate to produce the results you are looking for

Re: How to make callouts like this in VideoStudio x9?
Oh I agree, but for me time is money, without a plugin like TrackX it would take a lot of time to mimic their results. VideoStudio does exactly what I need it to do and I am so familiar with it, it would take a really compelling reason to change. TrackX on a Windows platform would be a compelling enough reason for me, but spending hours trying to mimic their results in a different NLE just isn't worth it. Maybe it wouldn't be hours in Adobe Premier Pro or After Effects, but since I am not familiar enough with either to speak authoritatively, I'm going to have to assume that's how long it would take. If Adobe had the TrackX plugin....that would be a whole different discussionRobertOZ wrote:Then try Adobe Premiere Pro or After Effects if money is no object, I have then both and they are more than adequate to produce the results you are looking for
In the end I told the customer I could not match their results and moved on to the next customer.

The TrackX output is very impressive and its motion tracking is much smoothly than X9's motion tracking which I find to be too herky-jerky. I guess that is the difference between a professional and a consumer grade video editor.herein2015 wrote:they are using Final Cut Pro X and a plugin called TrackX
