Hi, silly question but valid as never done it before.
To take advantage of an offer re paintshop /VS - wanting to order via Coral website, it is in dollers. Just wanted to check..ok to simply pay via mastercard to this site and automatically goes out via pounds from my account.
Again - sorry for the stuipt question..and feel free to delete or move this thread..but i am curious.
Never downloaded /upgraded before - assuming if i purchase online ..my VS X5...will easily 'upgrade' to VS 9? will i be able to make a copy for safekeeping? if PC goes down? Not wanting to fork out £7 dollers etc for 2 years warrenty etc
THANKS for 'patience' and appreciate if someone could let me know, not into ebay/paypal etc so just curious ok to buy from American site
thats all.

Re: purchasing via Corel website in dollers..
When you visit the Corel site to purchase, you should have the option, top right, to select your preferred currency, as you are in the UK, sterling should be an option, if not Corel will charge your card in $US and your bank will make the conversion. In the top left corner, you can also select your country, then prices will be in sterling
After downloading your product, make a backup and store on a portable drive, I have 3 backups on external drives, ever since my HD crashed and my portable drive crashed at the same time, remember to also store your license key and if its an update, the license key of your previous version ( which you will need when reinstalling VSX9).
Make sure you check with Corel that you can in fact update from VSX5, previously, it has only been possible to update from 2 earlier versions, but there has been some discussions on the forum that Corel appear to have changed this requirement for VSX9 and certainly on the web site it does state that the only requirement is to have a previous full version

Hi
Prices for Video Studio vary depending on where you purchase.
However you may find that accessing US will revert the price to UK, it does not simply convert the currency.
I know at one time that did happen and I have purchased using US prices, but then was charged standard VAT, even so was cheaper than purchasing from UK.
Easily checked by doing your own conversion.
For what its worth most of my Corel Software is downloaded, I save the downloads and serial numbers to a separate drive and also burn to a data disc as a further backup.

Re: purchasing via Corel website in dollers..
Thank you both for your replies. I have downloaded both VS9 and Paintshop 8 - both at a very very cheap price i add - worth contacting them!
I will make backups..and although i will work it out in the end...if you know..how to simply create /burn a copy of these downloads? Im using Windows 10 - at the moment just finding my way around.
I see no instruction booklet with these...would you know the simple, best way of ensuring whenever i upload footage into VS..im getting best quality. Just in past literally stick on 1 transition and the whole editing process becomes a bit of a sluggish nightmare..burns ok...but playback as your editing is near impossible.
Any tips on uploading? seeing as using VS 9..all new and all...?
THANKS for any advice given.

Hi
Give the user guide a looking at.
To import video to the program I right click the timeline for Insert Video, then browse for my files.
Same for library right click, you can create new library pages hitting the Add+ at the top.
If your video tends to be slow when editing try activating Smart Proxy from Settings menu, then import to timeline.
Read the guide regarding Smart Proxy.
