Differences between Ultimate X8 and Ulimate X7?
Does anyone know the free trial the site provides, is that Ultimate x7? Or is that just StudioPro 7 but not the ultimate version? What are some key differences? Looking to buy one, Ultimate x8 is 100.00, x7 is only 75.00.

Currently the free trial is X9 Corel no longer supply X7 or X8
it is a cut down version of the pro - the ultimate supplies extras and add-ins which are not included

Would I be able to upgrade from Ultimate 8 to 9 somehow? Or is buying 8 pointless? My local bestbuy has 8 and I have a gift card

No -- they are two separate transactions. You would still have to pay to get X9...

Of course you can upgrade from X8 to X9 - but you will have to pay the upgrade price - it is not free
