Incompatibility with a Windows 7 Update? & VSX8

Yesterday, I installed a bunch of Windows 7 updates; specifically:

KB3118401 (wasn't this)
KB890830
KB3127220
KB3115858
KB915597
KB3114742
KB3127233
KB3134814
KB3124280
KB3114548
KB3126446
KB3122661
KB3134214
KB3122648
KB3126593
KB3126587
KB3114745

Thereafter, VideoStudio X8 (fully patched) threw BEX64 exceptions and wouldn't start. Thinking KB3118401 was the likely culprit (since it installs a new CRT), I uninstalled that but no go. I did a system restore to get rid of the other updates, and VS fired up again. So I'm thinking that there's an incompatibility between one of the above-listed Windows 7 updates (except KB3118401) and VS X8.

If you had taken the time to read the many other topics on this problem you could have seen that the rogue updates were identified and instructions given as to how to remove and hide them to prevent them installing again

In the meantime Corel have issued a hotfix to solve the problems - so you can install all the updates and then install the hotfix.

I looked for updates on Corel's site (http://howto.corel.com/en/c/VideoStudio ... nd_Updates) but that one isn't listed.
