How to upgrade from VS X7?

I currently have VS Pro X7 and was thinking of upgrading. I have three questions. Firstly, should I uninstall X7 before installing X8 or X9 or do they run along side each other?

Secondly, I've seen there are two versions of X8 - X8 and X8.5 does it matter which of these I choose for my current OS (windows 8.1, 64 bit)?

Thirdly, would it be wiser to jump further ahead and install X9? (My main reasons for upgrading would be more options for motion tracking and chroma key filters).

No need to uninstall, but you can run just one at a time

X8 is now X8.6... as it's been patched thru the year.

Ok, that's good to know I don't need to uninstall X7 and it does seem like it would be better to get the latest version.
