Video Studio 6 will not open

I have not seen this post described in this manner. I am working with a brand new Dell running Windows 7 Pro. I have installed Corel Video Studio 6 with Service pack 1. The problem is that the program simply will not open. I have tried everything I can think of and still it will not open. So far I have installed the program about five times and getting nowhere fast. I should mention also that the inner program, for screen capture will not open either. This program has been running for about four years on my old machine so I know that the install key is correct. Anyone with any thoughts? All help or suggestions/comments are welcome.

The problem affected all users of all versions of Videostudio on Windows 7

there are many posts on here regarding the problem which was caused by a series of Windows 7 updates last week

you need to remove and hide two of those updates

Hi Brian,
Many thanks for your help. I did not read far enough into the postings. Here are the two offenders: kb3126587 and kb3126593. Remove both, and then restart your system and there are no further issues. Another poster suggested disabling the auto updater; I must agree. All things seem back to normal, I hope!

There is no need to turn off Windows Auto updates - you just need to Hide those two before Windows installs them again
