X9 distorting video after rotating

Post by emmangel »

Hi,

I've just downloaded the trial of X9 (I was using X7 until the Windows issue) and found that my video is being highly distorted after rotating it. It's causing pixelation in both editing and when saving. It basically looking like a video from the 90s, which isn't really the look I'm after.

This was never an issue when using X7 and nothing has changed with my recording set up, does anyone know if there's a setting I need to switch on, or if it's just an X9 bug?

Here's an example of what it looks like after rotating. This is a normal HD video and displays as such before rotation.

Sorry, I am not seeing the same results as you. I have rotated a 1080 video recorded with a Canon DSLR and there is no pixelization at all in the Preview (full screen on 24" monitor).
What are your Preference, Project and export settings? What type of file is it? What created it?
You mention it's a trial version, maybe there are limits to the resolution you can export to that is causing the problem.

Hi, file is an MP4 created with the Canon Legria HF R606. Preferences are the defaults (and same as I used in X7).

The program tells me the video properties are:
MPEG-4 Files
24 bits, 1920 x 1080, 50 fps
Frame-based
H.264 High Profile Video: 34313 Kbps
48000 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo

Tried several different project options, from program defaults to ones that match the video type exactly and all do this.

Though it's a trial version, I'd find it odd that something such as rotating an file would cause it to behaving in such a way (not going to convince anyone to buy the program that way). All rather baffling.

Where are you getting the video properties from?
Is is possible to upload a short clip to the cloud that I can download and test on my computer?
I've Panasonic 4K from 2 different cameras, Canon DSLR and camcorder, and no problem rotating. As you can see by my image, there is a lot of detail in there, yet none of the pixelating you have.
