Re: Sample Work Flows
We are able to get some clips from the disks, but some files stopped copying or errored out at the same point of that clip, even after multiple attempts. We were able to get all three files off of one disc (using copy/paste via Windows Explorer) but as I hope you can see below, VS said the "Content is not valid." They are VOB files. The files shown on the right are the videos I was attempting to import.
The screen shot below is the result after approx. 45 min. of waiting after selecting, "Import from digital media." Never get the option to select the desired Titles or Chapters because they never appear in their associated box.
This problem occurred after upgrading to MS Windows 10 and is still occurring now, in spite of reinstalling Windows 8.1.
The mini disk in question has two Titles. The first Title has five Chapters and all can still be viewed when played on a Sony DVR and TV. The second Title is made up of twelve Chapters and could also be viewed before, but now it stops after several minutes into the first Chapter.
Is this an indication that the disk has been compromised and that is preventing "Import from digital media" to function properly?
Thanks in advance for your valuable time and assistance. Virg

What does the above mean? Is this when copying the Video_TS folder from the miniDVD to your computer? If yes then that means that there is something wrong with the disc.

Hi Virg
I would expect to see the thumbnail?
you have not selected any titles or chapters, have you tried to select them?
Top left of all thumbnails is a small grey square, place a tick there.
Just the two Titles should import all you need.

Re: Sample Work Flows
Yes Trevor, I try to select or "tick" the Titles of the videos I want to import, but as one can see in the second screen shot I included in my Post of May 24, the thumbnails are empty, as in inactive. They are labeled as Titles and associated Chapters, but they are empty and don't display a video frame . I can try to select or tick the small grey box in the upper left corner of the empty thumbnail, but to no avail.
As shown below, selecting the Titles I want to import by ticking the small grey box in the upper left corner has been a standard part of the Capture workflow I have been using since being coached here on the forum.
VS X9 Ultimate CAPTURE Workflow
1. > Capture tab, and Insert Camcorder mini dvd, to be captured, in “E” drive.
2. > Import from Digital Media, in the Capture workspace, and pop up will appear.
3. > Verify Select Import Source Folders only shows 1. E:\, and
4. > Start, and wait for clips to appear inside Import from Digital Media pop up boxes,
5. > Click small grey box in upper left of Title clips (only) to be imported, and
Please forgive me for not making that more clear in my May 24 Post. This workflow had been working well for me but unfortunately, I can no longer proceed past Step 5 of my Capture workflow. Virg

Re: Sample Work Flows
Hi Virg
First close Video Studio
If you place the disc in your CD/DVD drive.
If any auto response to run the disc, close.
Go to Start - Computer and select your CD/DVD drive, right click to “open”
This should show the Video_TS folder, double click to open
You should see files similar to these, there may be less Vob, the vob files are your video files.
