How to get rid of suggestions to upgrade to SP3 ?
I installed Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X8 64-bit with SP1. Install SP3 did not, because it errors. Everything works but only hangs now haunting the window with a suggestion to upgrade to SP3. How to get rid of this offer ?

Have you tried un-checking the messages option in the Corel guide

Tell me, where exactly is this setting ? Specify the path to the setting, if not difficult...BrianCee wrote:Have you tried un-checking the messages option in the Corel guide

Start Videostudio
at the top left corner of the library pane look for an orange button with a downward facing arrow and some dots
click on it
wait until the Corel guide opens and all the images in it appear
look in the top right corner and find two little gear wheels
click on them
in the little box which appears click on "Message preferences"
Untick the box next to "Keep me informed with the latest product related messages"
Click - OK
click the little white cross in the little blue box in the top right corner of the Corel Guide
Continue to use Videostudio

Tick was removed, as you said, but the message still appears when you start...BrianCee wrote:Start Videostudio

Re: How to get rid of suggestions to upgrade to SP3 ?
Answer me somebody ? How to remove this window ? When I go to Corel VideoStudio X8 with a different account, there is no such window.
Why is Corel still has not released a patch which eliminates problems when upgrading to SP2 and SP3 ?!

Re: How to get rid of suggestions to upgrade to SP3 ?
Hi Alex
Problems with X8 started with SP2, then a series of fixes brought us to SP3 which did not fix all issues for many users, I cannot run 32 bit it crashes so often to make the program unusable. 64 bit for me is ok.
The new Hot Fix 2 may have addressed some issues but maybe that’s just for the windows update problem?
http://www.videostudiopro.com/en/suppor ... sion-tab=1
I know the messages can be annoying but are quite difficult to remove.
I don’t think anyone has a definite answer other than trying different things?
You may also have to remove the Messages from C:\ProgramData\Corel\Messages
There are a lot of those so finding the actual message may be difficult.
I don’t know what effect removing all has on existing / other Corel programs, on your own head be it....
Even so the popup may appear again, you may have to live with it.
Otherwise contact Corel and ask if they intend fixing SP3.
I will be installing X8 and will have a look to see if I can stop that pop-up, but don’t hold your breath…
And as Brian asks what actual problems are you having, what type of video files are you using?

I wrote a lot about it, many users had this problem. For example here:lata wrote:Hi Alex

Now I have Windows 7 64-bit. If I install SP3 to Corel VideoStudio X8 ? Would it cause issues ?

Re: How to get rid of suggestions to upgrade to SP3 ?
Hi Alex
All I can say is that I do not have a problem using CVSX8 64 bit version with SP3
I do have a lot of crashes using 32bit version.
I cannot guarantee that instilling 64 bit version will cure your problem, you have to try that option yourself.

Hi Alex
I assume you were running the 32 bit version, now installed 64 bit without SP3
maybe am I mistaken regarding 32 bit? Can you confirm?
If not does your 64 bit work ok with SP3?

Yes, earlier I had Windows 7 32-bit and Corel Video Studio X8 SP3 and now Windows 7 64-bit and Corel Video Studio X8 SP1. Service pack SP2 and SP3 for Corel Video Studio X8 did not put.lata wrote:Hi Alex

In particular:
1 Does Corel FastFlick error when you start ?
2 Does the error when you click on the button "Variable Speed" to change the playback speed video ?
3 Does the error Occurs when you try to view the finished clip is in the category of Instant Project ?

1 / No problems using Fast Flick, can create then save and export back to VS timeline to continue editing
2 / No problems in using Variable Speed or Speed / Time lapse, not that I use those that often, but I don't have crashes.
3 / Not sure I understand that question, but I have no problems with Instant Projects either existing templates, creating new ones or downloading from Do-More
