Big Problems

Post by ted_k27 »

I was an avid user of video studio x7 till last week. Weekly producing a video of our church service. Adding titles at beginning and end with transitions very simple stuff. All working flawlessly till last week. Then Microsoft updates apparently took out x7 (and crashed my PC). I reloaded my system, this time onto an SSD drive using my hard drives just for storage. Corel support suggested I upgrade to x9. I tried the trial and it installed and ran but now after rendering a video to both .mp4 and .wma (not using smart rendering, actually first time I did but then turned it off for the others) and I have lag in the audio which gets worse as the video progresses and now to make matters worse I tried to open x9 this morning (after more windows updates) and it hangs at the splash screen for about 5 minutes then gives the error “load from stream error”. Anybody have any advice?

Hi

we do not know much about the X9 trial because it has only been released in the last couple of days - BUT - if it is any thing like the trial for X8 then it may not even open mp4 files and if it does will give all sorts of problems with them

from my point of view you have one of two solutions

one is to remove two of the updates which are the ones causing the problem and continue using X7 - read this topic to get all the info you need

http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=58668

Second option is to bite the bullet and buy the full X9 programme - that seems to be working satisfactorily with all the listed video formats

Thanks for the reply. I'll wait to see what Corel support comes up with but I will probably go with purchasing x9 and hope for the best.
