Re: always Saved under
Most discussed topic on here.
PSP with JPEG files attempted to make the saving process better by adding a compression slider to the bottom of the Save As dialog. This allows you to pick the compression of the image before saving. Similar to what Photoshop does. They did this because one of the biggest complaints was that if you only hit "Save" it would automatically save with a quality setting of compression setting of 20. This would make the file size several times smalter than it originally was. People would save a 10MB file and get a 3MB one. This scared them.
So Corel made it open the Save As dialog with the compression slider to allow you to set the compression before saving each image.
To avoid this behavior and go back to the old way, hold the SHIFT key when clicking on the Save opion. This will force PSP to run the "Save" command silently. No boxes will pop up.

Re: always Saved under
The compression rate slider should be insertet in the "would you really save the picture" question, or (better) to the generell option dialog.
Shift + Save is NOT the old way, because there musr be ever an additional key to Close the picture.
I will only ONE CLICK after changing, Close.
If I say Close or if I say Save, then I means exactly so, and NOT add. Save as !!!!
If Corel is not willing to change this way, I must go back to X7.

Levi has written a script and posted it in the Scripting sub-forum. You can bind it to an icon and use it to Save. The link is here:
